Flower Delivery to Whitley with Clare Florist

Whitley is a suburb of the town of Reading, in the southeastern region of England. It’s located in the central portion of Berkshire county, and is an electoral ward of the Borough of Reading. It’s one of the largest suburbs of Reading. It’s close to the suburb of Whitley Wood, and the road heads into Shinfield. About 11,000 people live in this suburb. Whitley means “white clearing”.

Whitley is surrounded by a hill to the north and east, near the road to Shinfield. To the west of it are valleys, the River Kennet, and the Foudry Brook. There is an old road that takes commuters to Basingstoke that passes through the centre of Whitley. This road divides the residential region from the industrial region. Today, the main road is the A33 to Basingstoke, and it travels to the west of the industrial area, along with the railway line.

Besides the industrial business region, there is also the Green Park business park and the Madesjski Stadium.

In the past, Whitley was considered a hamlet located outside of the Reading Borough area. But it was still considered to be within the parish of the St. Giles Church in Reading. The Borough of Reading is the centre of the local government. It was originally a Saxon hamlet on a small region that had been cleared of woodlands, near the edge of the Windsor Forest.

Whitley has been listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as “Witelei”. Someone named Edward owned it before the Norman Invasion. In the 12th century, Whitley was given to the monks of Reading Abbey.

The town of Reading is considered a large town, and has a population of over 160,000 people. It’s believed it was initially settled in the 8th century and was called Readingum, and was occupied during the Roman occupation of England. The Domesday book lists it as a Borough. In 1525, Reading was the largest town in Berkshire.

St. Giles Church is a parish of the Church of England, located in Reading. It was first built in the 12th century. The church was completely rebuilt in 1872, with only the aisle walls and the perpendicular tower remaining. From photographs of the tower from 1840 to today, it’s apparent that the tower has undergone some extensive renovations during the past century. The ashlar steeple was replaced in 1873. The exterior of the church is made from flint, with a tiled roof. Today, it’s a Grade II listed building.

There have been some notable people living in Whitley, including Ricky Gervais, entertainment celebrity, Midge Ure, a musician, and M.L. Emmett, a poet, which lived there as a child.

In June of this year the Whitfest 2016 was held. The festival included musical performances, crafting, and shopping at craft and food stalls.
