Flower Delivery to Little Horwood with Clare Florist
Little Horwood is a village in Buckinghamshire located just two miles in the northeast direction of Winslow. The name of the village was derived from old English which means dirty or muddy wood. At the time of its commencement, the village was made up of wood that was muddy brown, houses and huts were made using this wood.
The village is habitant to just four hundred and thirty four villagers who are pretty content by overlooking the greenery and living in a place that is calm and tranquil.
The village is home to the Church of England’s Parish Church which is made in a gothic style. This architecture is made up of mainly of blocks of ashlar and the last restoration was done long ago in 1889. The church isn’t widely known for the architecture since now, the architect is said to have made the church in a very brutal and irresponsible way. The architecture isn’t that impressive and it depicts a sense of vandalism. Not only the church, but many houses and landmarks which were made by the same architects depict the same sense of vandalism and cold bloodedness. Moving forward, the interior of the church has survived many years and up until now the interior remains mostly the same as it was before. The paintings of the famous, yet deadly sins are still intact and can be found on the inside of the church where they have been preserved and many onlookers come all the way to view them. Not only were the paintings lucky to endure the hardship of the years but also arch of the church, which has been made with the same gothic style along with the Jacobean Podium which just like the name, is of the period of James first of England. All of these combined give the church a rustic look and feel and sightseers and local alike, who visit the church are engrossed and fascinated by the interior. Upon entering the church, one feels as if they have travelled back into time and is attending a mass with the locals of that time. The eccentricity of the church gets great photographs!
Apart from the church, there are other places to visit as well, such as the Horwood House and the little manor of Little Horwood, which unlike manors is made by keeping the modern touch. It has architecture along the lines of modernism but at the same time gives an antique look as well. The manor was under the ownership of an abbot but was then seized by the Crown. This happened in the 16th century when all of the monasteries were dissolved. The ownership was then acquired by the first duke of Buckingham who under his ownership set out to remodel the house. You shall always see a lot of greenery and flowers everywhere you look.
Apart from landmarks and historic places, the village is known for the flowers, the greenery that is engulfed around and the florists it has over there. There are various florists that design bouquets in a fashionable manner and use fresh local flowers. If you feel like sending flowers to Little Horwood for an occasion like a birthday, anniversary or just a plain simple thank you on an urgent basis Clare Florist can do so within a day!
