Flower Delivery to Roath by Clare Florist

Roath is a district in Cardiff, which is the capital city of Wales. It lies east, northeast of the city centre that stretches from Adamsdown in the south to Roath Park in the north. It's just within close proximity to the city centre, and is home to a lot of local amenities, churches, shops, restaurants, and public houses. All of these, plus Roath Park make it a really popular area to live in.

The name of the district is believed to originate from the Irish ráth, which means fort. It could also derive from the name that was given to the settlement in Cardiff called Ratostabius.

During the Norman times, a warrior Lord named Robert Fizhammon established his base in Cardiff Castle. He utilised the area of Roath as a farm so that he could feed the large number of people that his household contained. This was also the time when he established the Roath Manor.

The 12th and 13th centuries saw the area of Roath fell under the Lord of Glamorgan. It was later known as Roath Dogfield and continued to be known by that name for around 300 years. During this time, Roath was a village until the 19th century when it started moving away from its rural beginnings and started an era of housing development.

Roath has a very diverse population, which includes a lot of students thanks to its close proximity to main university campuses. The district also has a large ethnic minority population, and it's also home to a lot of young professionals.

There are parts of Roath that are classified as one of the most affluent districts in Cardiff. There are also a large number of Victorian properties in the south end of the district.

Roath is the site of the Church of Saint Margaret of Antioch, which was built in 1870 and used to be the site of an earlier Normal chapel as well as a new Gothic revival church. The church was designed by Llandaff architect John Prichard and contains the tombs of nine members of the Bute family.

Roath Park is one of the most popular parks owned by the Cardiff County Council. It is divided into several parts such as The Wild Gardens, Roath Park Lake, Botanical Gardens, Rose Gardens, Pleasure Gardens, Roath Park Recreation Ground, Roath Brook Gardens, Roath Mill Gardens, and Waterloo Gardens. Given the variety present in the park, it's one of the most perfect places to get a glimpse of Roath flowers.

The park also features a wide range of habitats that attracts a lot of wildlife. The lake is a habitat for mallards, cormorants, and herons. There are about 100 swans and quite a number of geese that populate the lake.

A lot of flowers in Roath can be seen at the park, and one of them is in the wildflower garden. It is a managed area that encourages a lot of wildlife and native species to thrive.

Given the atmosphere in Roath, there's no question that it's an ideal place where young professionals can thrive in. There's a diversity of shops (Albany Road, City Road, and Wellfield Road), including those that sell a few blooms. However, if you want to send flowers to Roath instead, that's perfectly fine too.
