Flower Delivery to Lesnewth Village with Clare Florist
If you and your wife are heading to one of the caravan sites in Cornwall for your anniversary, the nearby village of Lesnewth is one place worth a visit. Located at about two miles from the eastern side of Boscastle and six miles to the east of Tintagel Head, this village and civil parish are within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This parish is set in a farmland without too many houses and is not as populated. Its boundaries include St Juliot, Davidstow and Minster from the east, south and west, respectively. The name, Lesnewth, is Cornish in origin and with the definition of “New Court” or a chieftain’s estate. Since the Lesnewth manor was included in the 1086 Doomsday Survey, the village has, with it, a long history and perhaps, colourful past. That said, it is an interesting destination to explore while celebrating a special occasion. And since it is your anniversary, you might want to give your wife Lesnewth flowers. You can hand her the bouquet while visiting the sites.

St Michael and All Angels’ Church
Built on a hillside, this building was originally Saxon in the 1200s but was rebuilt by the Normans in which a tower was added in the 1500s. Centuries later, it was again rebuilt with much of the parts replaced except for the tower. Inside, there is much light from the re-glazed clear glass and by the Altar is the intact Norman window and what has remained from an ancient piscine. In the churchyard is an ancient cross while flowers in Lesnewth, such as the bright-yellow flowers of daffodils, are aplenty during spring.
The Old Rectory
This is one of the notable buildings in Lesnewth and was built in 1926.
Penpol
This is a Grade II listed building completed in the early 17th century and used to be a house until it was converted into a pig sty after sometime. It was also said to have been a settlement for more than 100 years. Made in granite rubble and with a cement-washed slate roof, the Penpol was bought in 1973and improved by the new owner, a DJ from BBC 1 Radio. It originally had two rooms, a parlour and kitchen. An extension was added by the new owner. The frame of the main door still has the original seventeenth century lintel while the windows found at the front of the structure are done in the 20th century. Two windows at the back, however, are seventeenth century lintels.
