Skellingthorpe is a small village that is 3 miles (5km) from Lincoln city centre in the English county of Lincolnshire. The earliest history of Skellingthorpe is at present unknown but there is evidence that a Roman settlement were in the area in C12 AD. The recording in the Doomsday book in 1086 records Skellingthorpe as 960 acres of plough land, common pasture, common land and woodland. During the 13th Century, there has been a place of worship as Robert de Weinflet was recorded as chaplain to the Church of Skellingthorpe in 1225.
