Flower Delivery to Wooler, Northumberland
Wooler is a small town in Northumberland , along the border of the Northumberland National Park. The town has a long and rich history. When Domesday Book was written in 1086, Northumberland was not yet under Norman control, and Wooler was therefore not included. The first reference to the town comes from 1107, when the barony of Wooler was created. In 1199, Wooler was granted a license to hold a weekly market, and it has been known as a market town ever since. A hospital, the St. Mary Magdalene Hospital, was established in the town in approximately 1288. The town also contains a number of historic churches. The oldest is Anglican St Mary’s. There has been a church at its location for 700 years, and the current building is from 1765.
Wooler sits at the base of the Cheviot Hills and on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. It is popular as a base for exploring these scenic areas and the Glendale valley area. Many walkers, hikers, and cyclists visit or stay in Wooler on their way to explore the Northumberland countryside. This area contains a beautiful array of landscapes and wildlife. The Cheviot Hills around Wooler are full of rolling grasslands, rivers, and waterfalls. Heather, cranesbill, lady’s mantle, and eyebrights all grow naturally in the area.
You don’t need to venture out into the Cheviot Hills to find beautiful wildlife and flowers though. If you’d like to send flowers to someone in Wooler, at Clare Florist we have a large selection of flowers that make perfect gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, and other special occasions.
