Flower Delivery to Corley with Clare Florist

Corley is a small village and civil parish located in the district of North Warwickshire, and in the county of Warwickshire. It’s located in the West Midlands portion of England, beside Wales. It’s grouped with the hamlets of Corley Ash and Corley Moor. 668 people were recorded as living here in 2011. Corley is only eight kilometres from Coventry, and right beside Fillongley. The easiest way to drive in is by the M6 motorway. There is also a bridge that goes over the motorway, and also has a sidewalk for pedestrians.

There are many notable buildings in the village, including Corley Hall and St. Mary’s Church. Corley Hall was built early in the 16th century and is located near the church. The building is H-shaped and has had a variety of renovations throughout the years, including a new addition in the 17th century. The front of the building has stood up well over time, needing few repairs.

The St. Mary’s Church was built in the 12th century. The church had a significant restoration in 1893. It was built in sandstone blocks and has a plain tiled roof. Its bell turret was added during the major renovation in 1893. The Church is now a Grade II listed building. It first became listed in 1961.

Besides Corley Hall and the Church, few other buildings from past centuries remain in the village. There are two thatched cottages directly opposite the church that have timber framing from the 17th centuries, along with some outbuildings and a barn.

The village has some amenities, including Corley Services, a service station. This is located between junctions 3 and 4 on the motorway, right near the bridge.

The villagers enjoy playing in the Corley Cricket Club. In 2012 the Club won the “Biggest Little Cricket Club” title out of 1500 other entrants in the country. The club has been considered the most loved and worthy in Wales and England. This Club is in its 69th season this year.

In the past, some famous cricket players have begun here, include James Ormond who eventually represented England. This club has also trained players who have competed at a county level, such as Race Williams and John Wilson, who went on to play for the Leicestershire young cricketers.

In May, the village held a Social 7’s and Vets Rugby Festival. There was an open age tournament and a veterans tournament, with players over age 35. In June, the Writers in Warwickshire Festival was held at Astley Castle. Astley Castle is an old castle in ruins from the 16th century. It was fortified and moated. It’s been considered a scheduled ancient monument since 1994. The castle has had a partial restoration, enabling people to rent it for events and lodging.
