Flower Delivery to Chapmanslade – A Small Wiltshire Village
Stretching between Westbury and Frome, the village of Chapmanslade is located on the far west of Wiltshire. It has its own pub, church, school, village hall, as well as several businesses. Fans of old architecture will enjoy a trip here as there are quite a few Grade II listed buildings. Nature lovers will love the proposed eco-sustainable development project at Thoulstone Park as well.
HISTORY
The earliest written mention of Chapmanslade was in a charter that Richard I granted in 1536 to Stanley Abbey, a priory located near Chippenham which included the manor of Chapmanslade. It remained in the priory's possession until the Dissolution.
Chapmanslade is believed to be part of a thriving weaving industry due to the presence of a 19th-century weaver's cottage opposite the church and a weaver's workshop east of the village.
Farming was also an industry in the village during the 1930s but the practice has rapidly decreased since then. Dyer's Printing Works was another industry in the village and it was founded in 1939. More industries cropped up before the Second World War but since then, trades have declined.
Social life was an important part of the village. The Women's Institute was always popular, as well as cricket, football, tennis and badminton clubs.

Longleat Safari & Adventure Park – features an extensive safari park, as well as a number of attractions, such as Penguin Island, The Jungle Cruise, Monkey Temple and of course Longleat House. The park is also home to the BBC Animal Park and CBBC Roar.
